Cavallini
Once I got rolling on this project, I had so much fun creating my Cavallini Suitcase Mini-Scrapbook! I knew I wanted to do something 3-dimmensional, and I just happened to have the uniquely shaped box in my supply closet. The travel paper is, of course, Cavallini. The straps are made with Grungepaper decoupaged with a textured paper, giving them a leather look. The buckles are simply Tim Holtz idea-ology D-rings. The handle is from 7 gypsies.
Once you pop open the side/lid of the box, a cascade of ribbons, chains, and pictures from some of the travels Matt and I have taken through the years hangs from the lid. I love to see new things and share experiences with my husband! Nowadays, most of our big plans to see the world get put on the back burner, but a life with a bit more freedom will be here soon enough, and we wouldn’t trade this time for anything.
All the papers and accessories can be found at Mystic Paper! I can’t wait to see what the next year holds in store!

Exciting News!
In addition to being invited to serve another term on Mystic Paper’s Design team, I received some other great news this week… I have earned a place on the Design Team for Mini Books Anonymous!!! I have always loved mini Scrapbooks- I know several of you out there have received an earful on my opinions about the 12×12 format- but the main reason I love mini books is due to their ability to tell a complete story under one united theme. I am thrilled to be able to share 3 mini books over the next 6 months with a whole new set of blog followers. As an added treat, at least 3 of the Design team members are international! It’s hard to believe I’m working with women from Mexico, Singapore, and Brussels (by way of London)! What a treat!

July D.T.
This months Design Team assignment for Mystic Paper is going to be so fun!–
(Notice the cut out section of paper in the bottom right corner. All 3 of the Design Team girls have now confessed to getting started before remembering to photograph their materials! Call it passion, not ditziness!)
Each of us girls, Holly, Shari, and myself, were given one sheet of Cavallini paper (intended to be wrapping paper, but beautiful enough to use for anything!). Our to-do assignment? ANYTHING WE WANT! (Whoo-hoooo!) Truth be told, this travel themed paper didn’t exactly ‘speak’ to me at first, but I pressed on, determined to follow my own rules and make it work! Can’t wait to share, stay tuned!
